Humble Beginning

In 1969, the Kalluvila family ventured into the fishing industry by buying boats. Over the next few years they were the biggest boat owners in the state of Kerala. In 1977, they decided to export the product from their boats. This was the beginning of the Baby Marine Group. They bought a small plant in Calicut and thus started its First frozen seafood export factory as a meager beginning.

In 1969, founders of Baby Marine Group, The Kalluvila family, ventured into the seafood business with its own fleet of fishing trawlers. Within a short span, we were managing the largest fleet in Kerala State.

Entry into the field of Seafood processing and exports took form with the purchase of a factory in Calicut, Kerala in the year 1976.

The Current Scenario

Now 34 Years Later, the Group has grown from strength to strength as one of the Largest seafood exporters from India with 6 Factories owned by us. Out of these 6 Factories, 5 have been approved to export to the EU apart from various other Certifications.

Four decades since inception, Baby Marine Group has grown to become one of the largest seafood exporters from India. With six seafood factories having E.U approvals and couple of them BRC certified, we are currently the largest producers of Frozen Headon Shrimps in India.

Factories

The factory locations which are spread over the South Coast of India help us source quality raw material. We say this because there are several Landing centers spread over the coast. Us having these factories helps us to process the raw material at the shortest possible time, which in turn helps us maintain the quality of the final product. More Details on the Quality page.

A major reason for our growth and success is the strategic location of each of our factories. Being in close proximity to the best landing centers along the East & West Coast of the country helps us process the raw material in the shortest possible time, cutting transportation time, thereby retaining quality.
